Drifters Win Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year

Last month, the Springfield Drifters were named the 2025 Business of the Year by the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce at the Chamber’s annual Inspire Excellence Awards.

“The Drifters are proud to represent the City of Springfield every time we take the field,” General Manager Jake Willard said. “To be recognized by the chamber and its members is truly an honor for our organization. We are so excited to take the field this summer and celebrate our fifth season of baseball with the Springfield community and its local businesses.”

The Drifters were recognized for building a “community-rooted baseball organization that brings families together, engages youth in sports, and creates meaningful internships and job opportunities for emerging talent,” by the Chamber. The Drifters were also honored for the organizations investment into the Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Springfield. The building, which is currently under construction, is slated to finish construction by the start of summer and is part of the organizations commitment to helping create a more vibrant and connected future for Springfield.
